From the mother of a girl adopted at 18 months:We brought home our daughter in July when she was 18 months old. More than anything I was worried after life in an orphanage that she wouldn't be able to give and receive love. She liked to be held immediately. She
attached to me and wouldn't let anyone else touch her for 3 weeks, but gradually started letting people hold her. It has only been 3 months and she is a very affectionate child and has bonded extremely well with all
family members. The biggest delay so far is the language barrier, but even so, she already can speak a few English words and can understand most of what we say to her and nod or shake her head appropriately.
Overall, the experience has been fantastic!
